From the peaks of Colorado to the shores in the Tahoe Basin, Mountain Gazette has had a long strange trip. To celebrate the return of the title, we're embarking on a new video series we're calling Mountain Notes. The series will feature short vignettes of folks in mountain towns doing things folks in mountain towns do. We'll showcase the activities, music, art, food and eclectic people.
Our first episode was filmed across the street during a windy day this year in North Lake Tahoe, California. The surf scene, if you can call that, has been featured in photos and stories, but never in video form. It's a small, eclectic crew that exists in group texts and in the sphere of not-taking-yourself-too-seriously.
This is Mountain Notes 1.
I’m not a scientist but if there’s one thing I know about the Universe, it’s balance. Yin and Yang. When one thing is done, something new fills that space. Given enough time, everything eventually balances itself out. Our life span as humans is so infinitesimally small that we rarely get to witness this equalization. But sometimes we do. Mike Rogge returns to the LPP to introduce the resurrection of Mountain Gazette. Listen here.
