HomoClimbtastic Trip to the New River Gorge
HomoClimbtastic returns to the New River Gorge for four extraordinary days of climbing and homo-socializing in the mountains of West Virginia. The New River Gorge is one of the premier sport/trad climbing areas in North America, with more than 2,500 established routes on beautiful white, orange, and purple sandstone walls.
WILD Foundation's Fall Fundraising Gala set for October 23, 2010
The WILD Foundation is holding its fall fundraising gala on October 23, 2010, at Colorado's famous Sculptured House on Genesee Mountain (the house was featured in Woody Allen's 1973 film "Sleeper"). The Sculptured House's owner, Michael Dunahay, doesn't host many public events at his home. But Dunahay, an avid supporter of nature and wildlife, will join The WILD Foundation President Vance Martin in hosting "Faces of the WILD World."
Boulder Premiere of 180° South: Conquerors of the Useless
On Thursday, July 15, 180° South: Conquerors of the Useless, will show at the Boulder Theater. The story follows Jeff Johnson as he retraces the epic 1968 journey of one of the most unique and prolific environmentalists of our time — Patagonia founder Yvon Chouinard and his friend Doug Tompkins — as they travel 5,000 miles from California to Patagonia. His hope is simply to find unclimbed mountains and unridden waves in the spirit of his heroes.

Galen and Barbara Rowell Lecture Series and Award in San Francisco
On June 9, 2010, at the Mark Hopkins Hotel (One Nob Hill, San Francisco), David Breashears will pay tribute to his friends Galen and Barbara Rowell and discuss his work in filmmaking, mountaineering, and climate change. Breashears will also present The Rowell Award for the Art of Adventure to explorer and writer Craig Childs.
Teva Mountain Games 2010 Climbing Events
The Vail Valley Foundation is proud to announce the climbing events for the 9th annual Teva Mountain Games, the nation's largest outdoor adventure event, which will return to Vail, Colorado, June 3 - 6, 2010. In addition to the amateur climbing competitions, Teva Mountain Games will host the IFSC Bouldering World Cup, the only World Cup event on U.S. soil.

Legendary climber Pat Ament is coming to the NY/NJ area at the end of April/beginning of May. Pat's new film, The Disciples of Gill, is getting rave reviews. The film features John Gil, the greatest boulderer of all time. If you are a climber, boulderer, hiker, love the outdoors, have an interest in climbing history, like merely to be inspired, or want to see a work of art, this is the night, this is the show!
"Colorado Burl" presented by Andy Mann, Jonathan Siegrist, and Matt Wilder
If you love Colorado climbing, imagery, and the stories behind both, you'll love this show. Presented at Neptune Mountaineering on April 29, 2010, at 8 p.m. by pro climbing photographer, Andy Mann, and local pro climbers, Jonathan Siegrist and Matt Wilder, this free event will showcase all Colorado rock climbing, with healthy doses of trad, sport, and bouldering.
Jonathan will share stories of his success across the Front Range, including his recent bolting accomplishments at Wizard's Gate in Estes Park. Matt Wilder will be sharing insight into his first free ascent of the North Face of the Devil's Thumb, Cheating Reality (5.14 R)...
Earth Week 2010 Events
Mark your calendars for another full and exciting Earth Week 2010. This year, Earth Week will feature another series of discussions and presentations including topics on renewable energy, sustainable and local food, and pollution from pharmaceuticals and personal care products. Earth Week 2010 is scheduled for April 19 through April 22. As always, we will have the popular Earth Day Action Fair on Thursday, April 22, from 6pm to 8:30pm with local "green" businesses and nonprofits coming together to celebrate a happier, cleaner earth.
FLY Tour Set for Showdown on Knoxville's Fort Loudoun/Tellico Lakes
The FLW Tour will visit Fort Loudoun/Tellico lakes in Knoxville, Tenn., April 21-24 for the third stop of the FLW Tour circuit. The Fort Loudoun/Tellico lakes event is hosted by the Knoxville Tourism and Sports Corporation and will feature as many as 300 top bass anglers casting for top awards up to $125,000 cash in the Pro Division and up to $25,000 cash in the Co-angler Division.
